JEECUP Announces Admission to Polytechnic Diploma Courses 2018



Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) has invited candidates to apply for various polytechnic courses for the academic year 2018. The exam will be held on 22 April 2018 in pen & paper mode in two shifts. In this session, Aadhaar number has been made mandatory to apply for this course. The offer of admission shall be subject to verification of original certificates/ document at the time of counseling/ admission.


JEECUP is a leading body to conduct entrance examination for candidates of diploma courses in the polytechnics/institute affiliated to board of technical education, U P. Under this a written examination is conducted every year on the basis of merit and reservation of the written examination, institutions and branches are allocated through online counseling.


Aspiring candidates are first necessitated to go to JEECUP official website and fill an online application form with utmost care. The application form is integrated with the payment gateway for your fee payment that is given below.

Application Form Fee:

For General/OBC candidates- Rs. 300/- per form plus bank charges
For SC/ST candidates- Rs. 200/- per form plus bank charges
The application fee can be paid online through Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card or via E-challan. The challan can be paid in any branch of State Bank of India.

JEECUP 2018 Eligibility:

Candidates must check their eligibility criteria before applying for this course.
There is no any upper age bar.
The minimum age limit for JEECUP 2018 is 14 years.


JEECUP 2018 Exam Pattern:

JEECUP 2018 exam is offline and ‘pen & paper based exam. Candidates are advised to make sure to reach exam center and exam hall well in time. Candidates should check their question booklet after distribution. If any discrepancy is found out then, candidates should inform invigilator immediately and change the question booklet.
Candidates should use blue or black ball pen to fill all particulars in the answer sheet and use only HB pencil to darken circle on OMR answer sheet. 

          1.     The exam will be conducted in two shift i.e. 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
          2.     Duration of paper is 3 hours.
          3.     The paper would be in both Hindi and English language.
          4.     Total number of question would be 100 and all questions carry 4 marks.
          5.     There is 1/4 negative marking in this exam. One mark will be deducted if any question is attempted wrongly.
          6.     The answer sheet provided to the candidates contains an attached a carbon copy so the all responses marked by candidates should appear properly on carbon copy of answer sheet. After examination, candidates can take the carbon copy of answer sheet and question booklet with hem.
          7.     The candidates will not do any rough work on the answer sheet. All rough work is to be done in the test booklet itself. 

JEECUP 2018 Results and Score:

The results/score will be declared by the third week of May 2018. This score shall comprise the actual marks obtained in UPJEE (Polytechnic) 2018 along with the status of those who qualify for appearing in UPJEE (Polytechnic) counseling 2018.

Only the state open rank is used for all the groups separately for admission through seat allocation while other rank information purpose only. 

No score/rank card will be dispatched to the candidates. Candidates are advised to download their score/rank cards from JEECUP website.

The answer key of the examination will be displayed on the website along with results. 

JEECUP 2018 Reservation of Seats:

As per Government rules candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. These categories are-

(A) Vertical Reservation:

          (1)  OBC if they belong to non-creamy layer-27%
          (2)  SC-21%
          (3)  ST- 2%

(B)  Horizontal Reservation

          (1)  Person with 40% or more disability- 3%
          (2)  Freedom fighter- 2%
          (3)  Ward of military personnel- 5%
          (4)  Girls of all categories- 20% 

JEECUP 2018 Cut Off:

Determining cut off marks is solely the discretionary right of examination authority. Cut off marks is the baseline that determines a student is pass or fail the exam appeared. The Cut-off is the minimum marks obtained by the candidate in order to proceed for further rounds of the admission process. 

The calculation of cut off marks is based on the factors like the total number of student appeared in the exam, nature and difficulty level of exam, previous year cut off marks.

After the exam cut off marks will be released separately on the official website. 

JEECUP 2018 Admit Card:

Admit card is an important and mandatory document for all appearing student. The admit card can be downloaded from UPJEE (Polytechnic) website from 2nd week of April 2018 onwards. 

The candidates are advised to regularly see UPJEE (Polytechnic) website for updates and download their admit card from UPJEE (Polytechnic) website only. After downloading the admit card student must check that carefully. 

In case of any discrepancy from the originally filled online application form data, then communicate to UPJEE (Polytechnic) council immediately for necessary action. 

JEECUP 2018 Counselling Process:

After clearing the JEE2018 candidates will be entitled to participate in counseling process in the month of June 2018. Counseling is the process in which the candidature at all norms i.e. candidate identity, eligibility and supporting documents are checked.

The counseling will be conducted in online mode only. Students are first necessitated to register for counseling on JEECUP official website (http://jeecup.nic.in) and pay their counseling fee of Rs. 250/-via net banking/debit card/credit card or via bank challan from any branch of State Bank of India. 

After registering candidates should opt colleges and courses as many as they are eligible for. Candidates shall be offered admission based on their choices, reservation and state open rank of UPJEE 2018 through a seat allocation process to be announced later. 

The verification of documents would be done at the time of seat allocation process/admission.
